A few days back, the Basic & Other Allowance circular caused headaches for most HR professionals as well as company owners. Finally, they withdrew the circular. Now, in this case, we are facing a similar situation.
EPFO is currently in a wait-and-watch position due to the distribution agency for Aadhar cards. Once the Aadhar card process becomes easier and faster, it will be mandatory for EPF. However, this process may take some time.
India is a very large country. Making decisions suddenly is not easy, which is why these kinds of things happen. It is not fair to blame the EPFO for not being firm on their decisions. However, it is a welcome decision that it has been postponed for now.

The matter was debated with many employers to make it compulsory. The fact is that, as of today, many covered employees still don't have their Aadhar number. Some relief for the time being for them.
Hi, we are facing a problem in generating UAN numbers in the absence of Aadhaar cards because some of our employees are from Guwahati where Aadhaar card is not mandatory by the government. Kindly suggest.
