Is Age a Barrier to Becoming an On-Roll Employee? Seeking Advice at 27

hemescool
Hello Friends, Is there any age limit to become an on-roll employee? I am 27 years old and currently associated with Vodafone South Limited as an off-roll employee, looking for an on-roll job. Kindly help me!

The age limits may be prescribed by the policy of the company. Since you are 27 years old, you can pursue jobs.

It seems to me from the query post that he is 27 years old and his management engaged his services, but his name is not on the muster roll of the company. He is under the impression that there should be a minimum age limit to acquire a job/service on the company's roll.

I may be totally wrong in understanding the query.

Response to the Query

Based on my understanding, my answer to the query is as follows:

1. There is no system of 'off roll' as he mentioned. All persons employed should be kept on the 'on roll'.
2. The minimum age for employment is 18 years completed.
3. The maximum age is as per the standing orders applicable to him but not over 60 years of age.
4. If there is a system of 'off roll' in existence in his company, it is illegal.

Your reply addresses the query more specifically than mine, and therefore, I agree with you. I have one doubt: By 'off roll,' does he mean that he is on a third-party roll (contractor) but working for the company?
