Am I Eligible for Gratuity After Being Laid Off in the US with Experience in India and the US?

I worked for a leading IT firm, was hired in India, and then transferred to the US. I was laid off in the US because of a lack of projects, and I was not given an offshore transfer back. I have 6.8 years of total experience, with 3.5 years in India and close to 3 years in the US. Am I eligible for gratuity, which is paid in India?

If your employment contract is signed in India and the transfer to the US was as per the requirements of the company, you are eligible to receive gratuity as per the Payment of Gratuity Act upon the termination of your employment.
