Hi,

Please help me in calculating, in Excel, the date of confirmation (6 months) of an employee calculated from the date of joining in YY/MM/DD format. This calculation must update regularly as per the system clock.

Hi,

The above-mentioned formula in the sheet is correct. Alternatively, you can use the following formula:
=C2+180
This will provide the exact date of confirmation after 6 months (180 days of service).

Hope, your company has a 6-month probation period for all new members. In that case, you can use the following formula to calculate the exact confirmation date:

=DOJ + (364/2)

Example:
DOJ Confirmation due date
16-Dec-09 16-Jun-10

This is a very good shortcut for calculation. Can you please provide guidance for retirement at the age of 58 years.

Thank you very much. It is very helpful to work on this kind of date calculations in Excel. I believe someone in the forum may share more shortcuts that are useful in our activities, such as gratuity period calculation, etc.

Hi,

Please change "Date of Joining" to "Date of Birth" in the Excel column name. There was a typo error.
ranjita_23
Hello,

Use this formula as =EDATE(DOJ,6). You will get the exact date of confirmation.

Hi Suhas,

The Excel file is good and useful, but there is a little correction needed. Since the date of birth is required to calculate the age, the column you mentioned (c) - date of joining should be corrected to date of birth. This file can be used for calculating gratuity since the date of joining is mentioned.

Hope you will do the needful. Well done, keep it up.

I would like to have the formula for determining the date when a person will achieve 58 years of age.

D.O.B: 01.06.1958

I require the calculation for the date when he will turn 58 years old.

Hi,

The best way to calculate the date and days for a new joiner is mentioned below. Please use the below-mentioned formulas in Excel. Whenever you open the file, the current date along with the updated days will be shown in the data. You will not need to carry out any calculations:

Name of Employee | Date of Joining | Date (Current) | Days (Current)
XYZ | 25-Jul-2016 | =TODAY() | =TODAY()/365

This format will automatically update the current date and days, eliminating the need for manual calculations.

Hi,

I'm trying to find the Confirmation Date by using the formula =C2 + (362/2), but it's not reflecting correctly; it's showing an error.

Please help me.
