Struggling with Report Writing? Tips for Crafting the Perfect Start and End Pages

ca gulati
I'm preparing a report on the physical verification of the store. I have prepared all the content but don't know how to start and end it. Could someone please suggest how to create the first and last pages of the report?

Dear CA Gulati,
There is nothing specific about the first page of the "Store Verification Report." I recommend you put the report under the covering letter. Let this covering report be addressed to the CFO, Director, or MD, as the case may be. Mark a copy of the report to the Head of Purchase or Supply Chain.

The first page of the actual report can be the index page. On the same page, you can include "Terms and References" of the audit.

By the way, was it an audit or verification? Are you a Chartered Accountant?

The most important thing about your report is the inclusion of various ratios. May I know what ratios you have included in your report? I ask this question because I conduct training on "Purchase and Inventory Management" related subjects extensively.

Thanks,

Thank you, Dinesh, for your suggestions. Yes, I am a Chartered Accountant, but I have not prepared any stock verification report before, so this is new to me. I started with different stock items and different registers of stores like:

1. General store
2. Electric material
3. Dental material
4. Hospital

These materials need to be included in the verification. It's similar to an audit of the store. I have prepared the proforma in which I have recorded the quantities as per books and as per physical verification, detailing any discrepancies and unserviceable items.

After that, I am not sure what to prepare next. What type of ratios should I consider? Today, I will create the first page, so please advise me on which ratios to include and any other relevant information.

Thank you for your response.
