Though we are familiar with the nine planets, we often forget them and their positions from the Sun. Here is a simple mnemonic sentence that will be handy to remember them easily: My Very Educated Mother Just Showed Us Nine Planets. The first letter of each word represents the nine planets from the Sun in the following order: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. If you already know this, pass it on to your kids.

That's a very good one, AVS . Forget about the kids; I must admit I still had that confusion—now no more of it, I guess, thanks to you .

Very good way to remember. A new learning. As per a recent study, Pluto is no longer a part of the Solar System. (I may be corrected if otherwise.) If Pluto is no longer there, then the mnemonic would read: "My Very Educated Mother Just Now Showed Us Navagrahas."
