Notice Period Confusion: Does It Start When You Resign or When HR Accepts?

sandhya_dhamodhar
Hi, I am working for an ad agency. I sent my resignation to HR on November 9th, but I received their acceptance email on November 14th. They are requesting me to serve a two-month notice period starting from November 14th. Should the notice period begin from the date I sent the resignation email or from the date of acceptance?

Usually, it is the date of acceptance. Below is a similar query asked in the link provided; please refer to it: https://www.citehr.com/252978-notice...ting-date.html. Yes, the very next day after your resignation is accepted by the employer will be applicable in this regard, and you have to serve the notice period as per the terms defined in your employment/appointment letter.
