Hi Roshni,
Thanks for response. You have mentioned above that two of the plants use to order samosa pav & tea. Do they have that daily? If yes do you think is it healthy for them to have oily daily ?
And can you tell me what was the estimate budget for each employee in your previous company?

Dear Priya,
The way to increase the responses is to create a web-based survey. The way you have posted questions, people may not be willing to answer them in public.

Dear Priyagaba,

In Industrial set up, healthy snack can only be popular snack like idli, dhoklas etc. But always the union plays a very important roll. The management does not take much initiative as they are afraid of unions. So on regular basis its always the taste buds that matter and people want to eat things that they cannot make at home or are expensive (fried items are expensive) because at home its their own budget in factory the company is spending on it and it is subsidized.

What you should do, is give healthy snacks either very subsidized or free and limited. So you have an upper hand and right from the beginning be particular and strict. Once people get used to it then its fine, but in no way even once give in for unhealthy snack, because then it will stay for good.

There are many snacks that are healthy, standardize them, make them tasty and then give. I have 20 to 25 years of experience in Industrial canteens and I know that these things happen. Your management itself will not support you, as they want to popular in employees eyes. Remember this and give me the feed back on [Login to view] U must have guessed that i am Gautam Shastry. This field is of my interest so write to me any time. Good luck.
