Do You Pay A Terminated Staff Anything Other Than One Month Basic Pay?

staff was terminated for absenteeism and is asking to be paid severance benefits. is this right? i believe that what the labor law says is that when a staff member\'s appointment is terminated due to misconduct, he will be paid only one month basic pay. please shed more light on this.

Dear Mamab,
We should have a valid/authorized reason to terminate an employee as per the Labour Law.
If there was a valid reason, no need to pay anything other than his Month Salary.
