One of my employees has now come up with a date of birth different from the EPF office record. What is the procedure to amend that? Should I simply file ECR with the amended DOB, or is there a set procedure? Kindly advise.
You have to fill a fresh form-2 and submit it with an application along with a copy of proof of the date of birth such as PAN, Voter ID, DL, Academic Certificate, which you intend to change. Confirm it from citeHR members.

You have to submit Form-2 with a copy of the Date of Birth (DOB) and a covering letter in which you mention the changed DOB of the member in the PF department record.
Thanks for your guidance. But Form 2 is a nomination declaration form on behalf of the employee. Should the application be from the employee's side or the employer's side? Kindly advise.

Hi Naveen, I have suggested a solution based on your query. The solution I mentioned above covers the basics of the procedure for employees and anyone experiencing clerical mistakes while filling out Form 2. If there is a difference in the date of birth in your documents, the procedure is outlined below:
Procedure for Correcting Date of Birth Discrepancies
Step 1: Affidavit for Change in D.O.B
Go to a notary or any advocate for an affidavit.
Step 2: Visit the District Municipal Corporation for the affidavit.
