New HR Assistant in a Certified Company: What Key Responsibilities Should I Know?

Introduction

This is Mohanapriya. I am going to join as an HR Assistant next month. Since I was working as an Admin Executive, I don't know the actual responsibilities of HR. The company I am going to join is a garment manufacturing company, and it recently obtained an ISO certificate.

Seeking Guidance on HR Responsibilities

I need to know all the basic things that should be maintained in a certified company. I am aware of PF, ESI, and basic amenities provided to employees. Apart from those, what else should be maintained? Please clarify, as I will be the one handling all HR activities.

Apart from PF & ESI, as an HR professional, you should check all the policies. If there are no policies in place, then you should prepare everything right from Recruitment, Leave management, Standing Orders, Dressing, IT policy, Security Policy, OT, etc. These policies play a vital role in HR.

In addition to policies, you should also monitor the attrition level and try to address any issues causing it.
