Experience Certificates To Off Roll Employee Who Is Working On Consultant Basis

rupaliunde@gmail.com
Hi Seniors,
We had one of the person working with us on full time consultant basis and he was not on a payroll of the company. He used to submit us monthly invoice towards consultancy charges. He is no more working with us now and demanding the experience and relieving certificate for the tenure he worked with us.
Please let me know, is it mandatory for organization to provide experience and relieving certificate to such consultant?
Thanks & Regards,

You should give him a experience certificate stating that he worked with your organization for a certain period as a consultant in "specific" department and you were paying him "x" amount.
This would help him to prove his work experience to prospective employers.
Even on a consultancy basis, he did work with the organization as the organization did not want to attract any statutory liabilities by taking him on-rolls.
Thanks & Regards,
Avika
