Contract Labor License Requirement

It is mandatory to obtain a contract labor license. The total worker strength of the contractor is 28. However, he supplies these workers to three companies in the quantities of 10, 10, and 8 respectively. According to the act's definition, it is applicable if 20 or more workers are hired on contract. Therefore, any firm to which workers are supplied but not covered under the contract labor act.

To obtain the Contract Labour Licence, the contractor must obtain Form V from the Principal Employer. The Principal Employer is required to submit their details to the concerned district Labour Commissioner's Office when applying for the registration of the establishment.

Have you received Form V from your Principal Employer? If so, you are eligible to apply for the Labour Licence. If the work premises of the contract labours are different, there is no need to apply if the number of workers at one location is less than 20.
