Workplace Complaints: How Should I Address an Assistant's Concerns About Workload?

One of the office assistants complained to the operations head that the Accounts Manager is giving her a lot of work. It came to my notice, and I know very well that there is no such heavy workload. She leaves promptly by 6 PM and does not stay for extra time either. She doesn't know the work properly and is still a learner.

Why did she complain to operations rather than discussing it with HR? Is she playing politics, or what is going on? How should I handle this situation?

What is your position in the organization? Is that office assistant positioned to work under you? Who is your in charge? Have you reported the same to your in charge and HR Head? What was their response when you informed them about the situation?

I am presuming that you are placed above her and you are allotting her tasks to perform. As you mentioned that she is a learner, you must guide her. Please call her and give clear instructions with a smiling face. Let her know that if she faces any difficulties in performing her day-to-day duties, she should inform you, and you will complete the task, ensuring that the person she complained about will not assist you in completing it. If she has any other problems with you, she can report to your boss, who will also be her boss. In case of any sexual harassment or gender-related issues, she can directly take up the matter with the HR Department and not with someone who is not involved. Additionally, you can request the HR Department to consider changing her or your section.
