I am facing a difficulty and want to justify my stand on the following point: "Lunch and refreshments are an integral part of a training program." Please help me and share the qualitative and quantitative reasons.

It is nowhere written that lunch and refreshments are prerequisites for any training program. However, for the sake of change and active participation of the participants, they can be provided.

My dear friends, when organizations are hit by a recession, the majority of them prefer to squeeze the training budget.

The Importance of Providing Lunch and Refreshments During Training

The objective behind providing lunch and refreshments during training is to keep the participants focused on their training. Trainings will have definite schedules. If the lunch and refreshments are provided at the premises of training, it will be easy for the participants to regroup after the break. If they are left to fend for themselves for lunch and refreshments, they go out of the premises to have it. All of them may not regroup at the same time, and this may make faculty wait for them unnecessarily. Sometimes, it is difficult to find a decent hotel near the place of training. If they go far, they may get tired after lunch, and that provides a great opportunity to doze off during training. There may be many other benefits of making lunch and refreshments a part of training.

Hi Hardik! To me, it is a yes and no, depending on the training type, venue, duration, company policy, economic condition of your company, etc. Overall, it will not necessarily follow that every time there is training, meals, and refreshments are a must.

It is not a statutory requirement, but it is done solely to refresh them during training. Therefore, it is also considered a welfare activity.
