How Can We Make Local Offline Meetups More Fun and Engaging for Techies?

We are thinking about developing an offline meetup feature that will allow users to schedule casual local meets. The users will specify the location, date, time, and their interests, and these meets will be featured on the home page as per location. So if you are in London, you will see meets that are happening in London (or will be invited to initiate one).

Seeking Member Opinions

I wanted the opinion of the members about whether they feel this would help or if they prefer the more serious seminars where there is a clear agenda and takeaway. I have personally found this to be a pain point, as I find it difficult to connect with other techies. Somehow, even when I meet, the existence of agendas makes the meets mostly useless. I want to encourage more of the kind of meets where there is less of an agenda and more sharing and fun among members.

Feature Wording or Rituals?

Is this merely a task of wording the feature correctly, or do you think this requires some sort of rituals that must be carried out to set the mood of the meet? I would love to hear from our members regarding this.

Please count me in. I loved meeting the members who contribute so much to our wisdom. Smaller group meets are interesting as the discussions remain super concentrated. I did learn a lot while arranging the bigger meet. Can barely wait to meet others!

I am in South Chennai. I am also interested in having an informal meeting with our members. During this meeting, we can share the challenges we face in our day-to-day activities, our achievements, specific targets, employment opportunities, working conditions, constraints, etc. The expenses incurred for this meeting can be shared among us.
