Hi All, I want to prepare a competency matrix for testers, by which we can evaluate ourselves and set our improvement needs. Can anyone provide me with such a competency matrix for testers?

Hi Anshul, you will need to read about Threshold Trait Analysis, the QuanCom model, and how to define a "Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scale." Then you should be in a position to define a rudimentary model.

One needs to understand what competence is first. For that, Quan Com and TTA are good reference/reading materials. Quan Com is actually one of the most popular models, initiated in the healthcare sector.

Converting Subjective Opinion to Objective Data

Next, we need to convert subjective/expert opinion into objective data, i.e., through BARS. This method is used everywhere, be it competence designing or environmental impact assessment.
