Dear all, according to the law, how long can the HR department keep an employee's personal file after leaving the organization? Thank you in anticipation.

It depends on the company's policies for maintaining the personal file. After an employee leaves the organization, his/her personal file should ideally be kept for a period of 1-2 years. After 2 years, the personal file goes to the storage since this file can be referred to for future use like re-hiring, etc.
