Hi friends, one of my friends is dissatisfied with the organization where she is currently employed. She wants to resign and also wishes the senior management of XXX Org to understand the reasons for her dissatisfaction. Therefore, she wrote a letter to the senior management as follows:
I have informed you that I was going to re-join XXX Organisation from 1st June 2012, but I regret to inform you that I am resigning from my position with XXX Org due to some issues that have deeply affected me. I want to share these issues with the hope that they will provide insight into the employee experience and may help reduce the attrition rate.
The Issues Are as Follows:
• Pay: I am the least paid employee in XXX Org. I understand that my pay was set low due to my interview performance. However, shouldn't the work assigned to me reflect my pay? You are paying 25K to consultants who are performing the same tasks as I am. What justifies this differentiation? In several instances, when work is assigned to me, I suggest the names of those with less work, but they are refused because their CTC is higher. Why hire people at a higher daily rate? My take-home salary is around 6,500/-. Has anyone considered how I am living in Hyderabad with this amount and what I am contributing to my parents?
• Timings: Office hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. I question why people come at 5:30 p.m. with work and ask us to complete it before going home, which has often kept me in the office until 8:00 p.m. During the first three months, Ms. X and I worked until 3:00 a.m. at home, which Ms. Y is aware of, yet we were never recognized. My observation at XXX Org is that people value those who speak more and showcase their work rather than those who speak less and perform more.
• March Salary: When I was ill, I spoke to Mr. YYY and Ms. ZZZ about releasing my March salary, which would have been very helpful as my family's financial situation was critical, and I am the sole provider. Instead, I became a burden to them. I did not ask for a loan or advance, only for the salary for the days I worked at XXX Org. Is there anything wrong with that? If policies and formalities are to be followed, then everything should adhere to them. However, despite continuous follow-up with the HRIM domain, I have not received any offer letter or STC, yet I have served XXX Org for four months. If policies and formalities are not applicable to the offer letter and STC, why are they applicable to my salary?
• Tax: If an employee earns less than 30K a year, there should be no tax deduction. I discussed this with Ms. ZZZ several times, and she agreed, yet tax was still deducted from my salary. Is it fair to deduct unnecessarily from my salary? Do the policies dictate this?
All the above issues have occurred multiple times, leading to my loss of interest in working with XXX Org. I joined to prove myself to those who rejected me in the interview. I hope I have done so, but I am forced to resign with great dissatisfaction because the culture at XXX Org does not suit my financial and mental conditions. I hope my experience will help senior management take care of my other friends at XXX Org. Hence, I am submitting my resignation. Please consider it.
Can she write like that? Does it seem professional? Please provide your comments on XXX Organisation and my friend Ms. Rani.
