TRAI Advertisement Regulations on TV Channels
TRAI has imposed a limit of 12 minutes on advertisements per clock hour on TV channels in India. New advertisements cannot start until 15 minutes (30 minutes for movies) have passed since the end of the last ad. Additionally, partial-screen or drop-down ads are prohibited, and the audio level of ads must not exceed the program's audio level.
While viewers may appreciate this regulation, broadcasters might be concerned about its impact on their revenue. Attached is a copy of the regulations issued on 14.5.2012 for your reference.
