Importance of Training in Companies

Training is an important activity for any company because it is considered an investment and is expected to produce tangible results, such as value addition. Both the company and the employee benefit from training. The employee becomes more capable of dealing with complex situations at their desk. Hence, the facilitator must give utmost importance to planning and delivering training effectively.

Steps to Plan Effective Training

First, write down the objectives of the training and the level of participants expected to take part in it.

Then, consider the infrastructure, such as seating arrangements, lighting, acoustics, the training hall, and its ambiance. Think about the training aids like a PowerPoint projector, flip chart, etc.

Next, think of how to deliver the training content in a way that inspires the participants. Involve them as much as possible and let it be more activity-based. Allow for a lot of interaction, group discussions, and role-plays, which make learning easy and enjoyable. Let it be interactive as well. Ask questions in between.

Role of the Facilitator

The facilitator also plays a part in the success of the training. Their communication skills should be excellent, and they should convey information in an exemplary and correct manner. Their mannerisms, body language, motor skills, etc., should all motivate the participants to learn. Their whole personality should be learner-friendly and accommodating. Don't put participants down for any reason. Constantly encourage them to interact with you.

A lot of books are available on this subject. You can read and profit from them. Also, take help from Cite HRians.

Above all, have confidence, plan well, and execute perfectly.

I wish you all the best!
