Struggling with Punctuality? Share Your Creative Ideas for an Engaging Training Module

Hey guys, I am working on creating a training module on punctuality, and I'd appreciate it if you could share your views on this. All ideas are welcome—they can be as bizarre as you can think of.

The Challenge of Punctuality

The concern I face is that even after letters and tough actions, people's attitude towards coming 5-10 minutes late doesn't possibly change.

Objective of the Training

My objective for this training is to bring about change not by giving a lecture but by making it interactive, showing them a few videos, or through experiential learning.

Dear Puneet, let me not pull any punches and tell you that training on punctuality may not help, perhaps. Punctuality is a part and parcel of your organization's culture. It is to be demonstrated in action, and this is predominantly the responsibility of the higher management. First, conduct an audit of punctuality from the top. Are they punctual?

The Real Issue: Personal Values

The real issue here is that you need to undergo training on "Personal values." Timeliness is one of these values. Additionally, you need to conduct training on your organization's values. By arriving late, employees are doing a disservice to the organization. This aspect needs to be instilled in the minds of the employees.

Creating a Culture of Commitment and Trust

When the situation reaches a point where you feel that training on punctuality is necessary, it reflects the employees' commitment to the organization. Therefore, the focus should be on how to create a culture of commitment and trust. This, again, poses a challenge for top management.

In any case, you may proceed with the training on punctuality. However, regardless of the method you choose, the lasting impact it will have remains to be seen.
