How to Provide Proof of Salary When Paid in Cash Without Deductions?

carbon
Hi,

I am A. Ganesh, working in a limited concern on a contract basis. I have been given a salary of 12000/- in cash without any allowances, PF, or ESI deductions. Now, I have got a job in a big organization. They are asking for last month's salary slip. What should I do?

Please help me solve this problem. Is a salary certificate enough for proof?

Regards,
Ganesh A.

Hi Ganesh,

If the salary breakup does not include PF and ESI, then it's not your fault because it was not in the practice of the company you are working with. Yes, get a salary certificate from the employer; that would be sufficient.

Dear Amitmhrm,

Solve my problem also. I am getting a salary in cash, 25000 per month. I too have only an offer letter and a salary structure, but PF & ESI have never been paid. Now I want to switch to another company. Will I face any problem in that? Please guide me, sir.

Dear Amit,

I have a similar issue. I am getting a consolidated salary of INR 52,000 per month since November 2009 without any deductions. I am also not on the accounting books of the company as it is a very small company. Moreover, I am working in a family-based business where my spouse is the Director, but I am working at a designation of 'Manager'.

Now I have to switch to another company; how can a consolidated salary be shown in this regard? Though I can show the appointment letter and relieving letter on the company letterhead. Will it suffice?

Please suggest.

Regards,
JIA
