Facing a Dilemma: Should I Sign the Offer Letter or Move On Without Notice?

Hi, I have joined a company and worked only for 5 days, during which I was not assigned any work. I have not taken the original offer letter and returned the signed copy to HR. Now, I have a better offer from another company. I explained this to my manager, and he says I have to serve a one-month notice period or pay back one month's basic salary to the company. HR says, "Please come and sign the offer letter."

Dilemma: Sign the Offer Letter or Ignore?

Should I sign the offer letter and serve the one-month notice period, or should I just ignore them without informing anything?

Documents Submitted on the First Day

1. Photocopies of my previous employer and education certificates.
2. PAN card photocopy.
3. Photograph.

Please suggest to me.

If you haven't signed the offer/employment letter yet, there is no need to do so, and you can leave your job anytime without offering a notice period or anything. Regarding the documents that you have submitted, you don't need to worry about it if you have submitted copies of the same.
