Part Time Employee Can Also Be Workman Under ID Act

pca
Dear friends,
I am attaching an interesting judgement delivered by Gujarat High Court in which the court has held that part time employee is not excluded from the definition of 'workman' under Industrial Disputes Act and accordingly he could also enjoy the benefits applicable to a workman. Whether he is workman or not is a mixed question of law and fact. It indirectly also accepts the concept of dual employment at the same time.
Thanks

"Workmen" as defined under the Industrial disputes Act even though they are "part time workemen" are covered by the provisions of the Industrial Disputes Act 1947.
