Is a Manual Attendance Register Necessary for P.F. in a Tech Company?

Hi all, our IT company is USA-based. In our company, attendance is generated by the system through access card reports, and hence, the employees do not need to sign in anywhere in the attendance register. I am not aware of the rules regarding the attendance register; as far as I know, the register is necessary for P.F. Can anybody please help me with this?

You can maintain your record electronically, and it is permitted. You have to apply to the labor department for approval to maintain the record electronically.
