Can you please tell me how to fill out Form 12A and what procedures follow after filling the PF challan? I understand that we need to fill out Form 12A, Form 10, and Form 5, but I would like to know who assigns the PF account number to new employees. Additionally, what happens if a new employee wishes to transfer their PF account from one state to another?

The Form 12A should be filled out according to the details in the challan. The remittance column needs to be completed after the remittances are made. Form 12A, along with Forms 5 and 10 for the month, must be submitted to the EPFO before the 25th.

Assigning EPF Numbers

It is the employer who assigns the EPF number to newly joined employees. The account number should be provided in Form 9 in the order of the date of joining.
