Is the Shops and Establishment Act Required for Small Ad Agencies Like Mine?

rits
Dear friends, I am working in an ad agency in Bangalore. It's a 5-year-old company with a strength of 45 employees. Is the Shops and Establishment Act necessary for an ad agency or any service industry?

All the establishments, except the factory/company, will be covered under the S&E Act. There are exemptions for certain shops and service industries, which will be briefly explained in the S&E Act of the respective state.

I have attached the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act of 1961 for your reference, which will provide you with a detailed understanding.

Thanks and Regards

Yes, you must register your company under the S&E Act. It doesn't matter if there are no employees; even if there is only one employee, you still have to register. There is a fee structure based on employee headcount that you have to pay to the government.

Please send Form B for the renewal of the Shop & Establishment Act in Karnataka. Kindly forward me the related forms, friends.

Thank you.
