Using One PF Code for Multiple Contractors

Is it possible to use one PF code for filing contributions of two or more contractors?

Thank you.

If you have a consultant and request the consultant to maintain the PF for your organization, and if, like you, some other organizations also instruct the consultant to maintain the PF for their organizations, then the consultant can make the PF contribution in a single code. However, if you keep your own code separately, it will be easier for you to deal with employees and PF authorities.

Dear Manoj, in the Contract Labour Act, many contractors are covered. In the Contract Labour Act, if a contractor fails to pay PF, then it is the mandatory duty of the Principal Employer.

The PF Inspector can check the records of any contractor who is working in his jurisdiction (geographical region), even though the contractor does not hold the PF Registration in his office. You are bound to give all the details as asked by the PF Inspector.
