Gratuity Payment Submission: Letter or Form?

To make the payment of gratuity, do we have to use a letter format or is any form available?

In order to process the payment of gratuity, it is important to determine the necessary format for submission. Generally, organizations may require a formal letter requesting the payment of gratuity, outlining the relevant details such as the employee's name, employee ID, duration of service, and amount of gratuity due. However, some companies may provide specific forms or templates for this purpose. It is advisable to check with the HR department or relevant authority to ascertain the preferred method of submission for gratuity payment. By following the appropriate format or utilizing the provided form, the process can be expedited efficiently.

In case of gratuity payment, the labor officer mentioned that the last drawn wages should be taken into account, not just the basic and DA alone.

Thank you.

The Labour Officer must have mentioned the last drawn wages as defined in Section 2(s) of the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972. Please review this definition to draw the proper inference.
