Minimum Wage Increase for Private Sector Employees in Delhi
This is for the information of the members and anyone interested in the minimum wages of private sector employees in Delhi. The Delhi Government, in accordance with its revised policy of DA increase according to the Central Government DA increase periodicity, has released the order for DA increase in the state of Delhi effective from 01.10.2011. Accordingly, the minimum wages are now revised effective from 01.10.2011 due to this DA increase. The government has declared an increase of about 3.65% of the wage rate as was applicable in Delhi from 01.04.2011.
The scanned copy of the order is attached herewith in two parts. The second page of the order is not clear; however, a comparison with the rate as applicable on 01.04.2011 will help in understanding the applicable rates.
Strangely, this order was released on 31.10.2011; however, neither the website of the state Labour Department is updated nor was it given any publicity in the prominent newspapers. This could have resulted in timely adherence by many concerned and benefited a large section of the workforce. Even many officials of the Delhi Labour Department do not know about its release. Due to this, most of the people interested in the issue are still making payments at the old rate.
