Even in rest of the rows also, formula is incorrect. The monthly attrition Rate is calculated as : No. of employees left in Current Month/ ((No. of Employees at the start of the month+No. of employees at the end of the month)/2).

According to my organiztion procedure, we are calculating attrition by using the formula
(No. Of Deletions/ Total No. of employees)*100

Total no. of employees for the month is the no. of employees who comes in payroll for the month after considering addition and deletion.

I regret to say that I didnt get you.
For example,
Consider,
The no. of employees at the begining of the month = 210
Addition = 20
Deletion = 10
So no. of employees at the end of the month will be 210+20-10 =220
As per your calculation total no of employees will be (210+220)/2 =215
But as per our calculation it will be 220 which we will take for payroll.

Hi Starlet,
I have further cross-checked and found that there is a difference in our formulae. The reason is we are calculating attrition rate on the average no. of employees in a month where as u are considering the employees who comes in payroll for the specific month.
There have already been lot of discussion on this site regarding the attrition calculation and as per my information and understanding attrition is calculated on the basis of average employees but still I am open for suggestions. Therefore, I would request the seniors to throw some more light on the monthly attrition Rate.
In order to make it more clear, I have calculated the attrition rate based on your example:
1. No. of deletions/Total no. of employees *100: 10/220*100 = 4.54%
2. (No. of EEs left in current month/(EEs at start of the month+EEs at the end of the month)/2 )*100: 4.65%
Therefore, there is a deviation of : 0.11 %
