How to Write Cheque Amounts in Foreign Countries

I heard that in foreign countries, there is no use of "lakhs" and "crores." How should one write cheque amounts in such cases?

Here's the difference between our Indian way of counting and the Western way:

Indian vs. Western Counting Systems

The Indian system has a comma after every two zeroes, while the Western system has a comma after every three zeroes after a thousand.

- **Indian:** 1,000 → 1,00,000 (Lakh) → 1,00,00,000 (Crore)
- **Western:** 1,000 → 1,000,000 (Million) → 1,000,000,000 (Billion)

If you notice, 10 Lakhs is equivalent to 1 Million, and 10 Crores is equivalent to 1 Billion.

Hope this suffices.
