Here's the difference between our Indian way of counting and the Western way:
Indian vs. Western Counting Systems
The Indian system has a comma after every two zeroes, while the Western system has a comma after every three zeroes after a thousand.
- **Indian:** 1,000 → 1,00,000 (Lakh) → 1,00,00,000 (Crore)
- **Western:** 1,000 → 1,000,000 (Million) → 1,000,000,000 (Billion)
If you notice, 10 Lakhs is equivalent to 1 Million, and 10 Crores is equivalent to 1 Billion.
Hope this suffices.
