@Sofee: Understanding Recruitment, Sourcing, and Staffing

Recruitment is a broad concept that encompasses sourcing and staffing. It is a process that begins after manpower analysis or after identifying the need for human resources. Recruitment starts from the requisitioning of staff up until induction and orientation. Sourcing and staffing are subsections that fall under the recruitment concept. A typical recruitment cycle includes Requisition - Sourcing - Assessments - Negotiation - Selection - Staffing.

Sourcing and Staffing Explained

Sourcing involves CV screening, coordinating HR interviews, and validating candidates. Staffing includes handling joining formalities, induction, and orientation. Some professionals equate staffing with the recruitment process. If said in the right context, it is true. Staffing would also mean the entire process of fulfilling the human resource needs of the company. This explanation above is my personal understanding.
