Is ESIC Applicable to the IT Industry? Seeking Guidance from Experienced Professionals

Hi Seniors, I am working in an IT company in Ahmedabad, and I want to know if ESIC is applicable to the IT industry or any service industry. Kindly help me in this regard.

Hi Pruthak, ESIC is applicable on a salary basis, not on an industry basis. Employees earning below ₹15,000 will be covered by the ESIC. This regulation applies to all industries, but there should be more than 20 employees for it to be enforced. For further information, please refer to the ESIC Act of 1948.

Agree with Raghu... ESIC will be applicable if employees are more than 20 and their earnings are more than ₹15,000. However, there are a few locations where ESIC is not applicable.

I am working as a Management Trainee in an HFC, and in our company, ESIC is not applicable. What could be the reasons for this? We have 500 employees. Pruthark, please help me out. I am also from Ahmedabad and currently searching for a job. If there are any vacancies in your company, please inform me.
