Dear Sir,
I am a student and would like your advise on the following situation
In 2003 was a huge demand for 24/7 call centres and IT support companies. From a company’s profit maximizing perspective, the companies tried to fit as many employees as possible in an available space, thus ignoring the standards required for health and safety. Companies did not show any concerns for physically disabled people or fire exit standards.Which Indian laws and clauses that are applicable during the design and execution stages of Interior Design, in-terms of health and safety. The advantages and disadvantages of Indian laws over UK laws. What is sensible and practical under Indian context.
Any advise or suggestion is much appreciated.
Thank you,
Venita.

What should we do with loose wires and hanging wires to keep the workplace clean from wires? Also, how can we be careful when using a ladder?

Hi, Vedvert,

Loose wires are not allowed in a factory; all electrical wires should be properly insulated, and when connecting, connector bars must be used.

Regarding ladders, ensure they are positioned at a 45-degree angle with bottom rubber bushings, and if the height is over 2m, an assistant is needed.

Jayaweera

Thanks Jayaweera for your reply. I have updated my knowledge with this. Can you tell me how much height an emergency exit should have and how far it should be from the main gate?
