Are Labor Laws Different for IT Firms and Manufacturing Units? Seeking Insights and Abstracts

Hi All, I am looking for the abstracts on labor laws for an IT firm. I am not yet sure if the laws for IT firms and manufacturing units are the same.

I came across an old forum related to labor laws abstracts that are required to be posted in the firm. Unfortunately, I cannot provide the link as I am a new member. It's from an old forum on the same site.

IT firms are covered under the provisions of the Bombay Shops and Establishments Act. I have attached two documents. Although they are not as comprehensive as you require, they can provide a succinct idea of what to put on the board.

You can approach any law bookshop or any stationery shop near the Labour Commissioner's office of your district. They will have the complete set of the abstracts you require. Here, you need to display the Shops and Commercial Establishment Act, Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages Act, Child Labour Abolition Act, and Payment of Gratuity Act. Any other requirements will be informed to you by the shopkeeper. They are the ones procuring and selling all the necessary items as per the Labour Commissioner's office requirements.

- Ready-made abstracts are available in the 'Bare Act & Rules'. Get the book, remove/photocopy an extract from the book, and display it.
- Abstracts are also available alone in shops selling legal forms and formats. Buy them and display.

• The Factories Act is not applicable to the IT/non-manufacturing industry. The applicable Act for the IT industry is the Shops & Establishments Act.
