Should EPF and ESI Start from Day One of Probation or Only After Permanent Appointment?

cgm
As a Private Limited Company, I issue an appointment letter to new employees upon joining, with a condition of a probation period of 3 months. After completing the probation period, the employee will be appointed permanently.

The question is, should EPF & ESI be applicable from the first day of the probation period or after being appointed permanently?
Alphonse
You have to deduct the ESI and PF contributions from the date of joining.

The replies are not clear whether they mean the first day of appointment:

1. On probation or

2. As permanent.
