Are Provident Fund and ESIC Benefits Available for Probationary or Temporary Staff?

Please guide me on whether the provident fund and ESIC are applicable to staff on probation or temporary staff.

The EPF law and the ESI law both provide for membership from the very first day of employment. There should not be any discrimination between a permanent and a probationer/temporary employee if they fall within the definition of "employee" as outlined in the EPF and ESI laws.
