Should A Company Provide Paid Leaves During Probation Period?

We are a BPO company and would like to know if an employee eligible for paid leaves during the Probation Period?
Also How is Leave encashment calculated is it on Cost To the Company or only on the Basic Salary?

Leave encashments are to be calculated on Basic salary only.
But note that LOP is calculated on gross salary.

They should provide some fixed amount of days say for example 20 days in whole of the probation period. Minimum duration should be there so they wont take advantage of those paid leaves but in emergencies, they can utilise it well. Trainees akso have natural emergencies too. Thanks.
