Employee grievances in an organization may be big or small. Every individual has their own perspective; they think differently and act accordingly. Therefore, we should emphasize understanding their problems and identify exactly what issues they have faced.
Steps to Address Employee Grievances
There is a simple and basic tool to understand how the problem was faced. You need a long counseling session with them: ask open questions, be a good listener, create an open environment, make them feel at home, find the solution from them, and do not impose your decision. It is better to create alternative decisions like (A) or (B). Give them time to think about their decisions. After a few minutes, ask which option is better, (A) or (B). Once the decision comes from them, it is the right time to solve their grievances.
During the counseling process, also share jokes, stories, and other engaging elements.
