First Aid List

Each first aid box or cupboard shall contain the following items:

1) 24 small sterilized dressings
2) 12 medium-sized sterilized dressings
3) 12 large-sized sterilized dressings
4) 12 large-sized sterilized burn dressings
5) 12 (1/2 oz.) packets of sterilized cotton wool
6) 1 snake bite lancet
7) 1 pair of scissors
8) 2 (1 oz.) bottles of potassium permanganate crystals
9) 1 (4 oz.) bottle containing a two percent alcoholic solution of iodine
10) 1 (4 oz.) bottle of sal volatile with the dose and mode of administration indicated on the label
11) 1 copy of the first aid leaflet issued by the Chief Advisor, Factories, Government of India
12) 12 rolls of bandages, 4 inches wide
13) 12 rolls of bandages, 2 inches wide
14) 2 rolls of adhesive plaster
15) 6 triangular bandages
16) 2 packets of safety pins
17) A supply of suitable splints
18) 1 tourniquet
19) Burn ointment - four tubes
20) Dettol - 2 ozs.

You can have the following compliance checks done along with the First Aid kit available:

1. First Aid Training to staff in morning and evening shifts to cover 24/7.
2. First Aid Medicines – Checklist displayed in the common area, probably at the security checklist.
3. First Aid Medicine available with the security staff and displayed.
4. Security desk to have emergency contact numbers displayed.
5. First Aid Kit available at security (along with extension number and admin helpline to be displayed on all notice boards).
