Mandatory Payment of D.A.

It is mandatory to pay D.A. We have paid salaries to all our workers more than the minimum wage. The salary structure includes Basic, HRA, Con. Allow, and Other Allowances.

Thank you.

If you are giving more than the minimum wages, then you don't need to give Dearness Allowance (DA). It's all up to you. Are you from the HR department?

I do agree with Ashish; whatever we pay in totality should be more than the minimum wages, except for the conveyance amount. As per the Minimum Wages Act, conveyance is not considered part of wages.

Welcome to CiteHR. If your employment is covered under the list of scheduled employments under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, please inform the members of the name of your appropriate government for your query. You can also approach your area labor office for this purpose.

Mandatory Payment of Dearness Allowance (DA)

As per the UP Government Notification, DA is mandatory irrespective of the quantum of wages paid to a worker. It is paid on the basic pay (minimum wage).
