Choosing Between HR Manager, Trainer, or Recruitment Consultant: What Would You Do?

sajadmir
Hi, I recently got appointed as an HR Manager in a property development company. Now, I am considering an offer to work as a Trainer in an education-related company and a Recruitment Consultant in an Indian MNC. I would appreciate any suggestions you may have regarding these opportunities.

Thank you.

Hi Sajad, why are you in a dilemma? These opportunities may knock on the door many times, but you cannot always run after them, leaving behind what you currently hold. Here, too, it is the same case: many job opportunities will come, but it is up to you whether you want to do a mere job or you want to make a career. Please list down your strengths and interest areas and then go ahead and make a choice.

You should have given a little detail about how much total experience you have. What designation did you hold in your last job? Design your career path and then make your moves according to that; then it will become much clearer where and when to stop to add a chapter in your life for better growth.

Hope this resolves your query for now. Do let us know more about you so that we all can help you out of this dilemma.

Regards, Archna

Hi Sajad, I have given my suggestions already. The choice is yours; we all can just help you out in making a choice, that is all. I do not want to tell you to go for a trainer or recruitment, as it may not give you a chance to think about your interest areas.

Make a Choice Based On:

- Your career path
- Your strengths and interest areas
- Company's past performance and reputation
- Your growth in the company
- The monetary package (no matter how hard we try not to think of it, many of our decisions revolve around it)
- Other benefits

And go figure...

All the best. Any guidance you need, we will all be here.

One more thing, please share with us when you are clear about your choice. Let us all know why you chose a particular opportunity so that the members can learn from you. All the best. 

Dear Mr. Mir, If you don't mind, could you please share the package details for the offers that have been extended to you? Furthermore, if you are able to answer these queries, it might help guide your decision-making process:

1. Please identify what you like most.
2. Your interest in a specific domain.
3. What you aspire to become.

For instance:

1. I am an IT professional with an MCA degree. Since 2005, I have been involved in delivering services to the education industry in general management, covering HR activities, employee training and development, student admissions, and counseling. I have also supported various departments such as facilities management, finance, IT, hostel, and catering.
2. My key strengths lie in managing people, getting things done, identifying hidden talent, and training.
3. I enjoy playing the game only at the top management level as I understand them very well.

In a similar manner, define what aligns with your interests that will shape your career path. As Ms. Archana mentioned, creating your own career requires hard work and time.

Have a nice day.

With profound regards.

As-salamu alaykum Brother Khadir, well, your interests and mine are somewhat similar, and I started my career in the same way as you did. I have a degree in B.Pharmacy but have worked in the education industry. I love counseling, training, and delivering presentations. However, my present company did not give me any salary increase when I shifted from the sales domain to HR. In my training profile, I am getting almost a 15% hike. Actually, there isn't much work here as the company doesn't have a defined HR department.

JazakAllah khair

Dear Sajad, A lot of correspondence has already taken place regarding your post. However, I would like to point out that there is nothing like "job planning." The concept of "career planning" does exist. Therefore, when making decisions, consider your career rather than just the job at hand or your future job.

Thanks,
