Deploying Contract Labor: What Should I Know Before Getting Started?

We have to deploy some contractors/contract labor in our company. Please guide me about this.

You will have to maintain Form-T combined register, ID register, issue appointment letters, issue employment cards, leave cards, leave register, issue payslips, register them for ESI/EPF, monthly returns, half-yearly returns, annual returns. Procure contract licenses, do registrations, etc.

For deploying contract labor, you have to obtain RC (Registration Certificate) in Form No. I from the Labor Department, mentioning the name of the contractor, maximum number of employees to be engaged, and the contract period. Based on the RC, the contractor has to acquire a Labor License in Form No. IV from the Authority if the workforce exceeds 20 employees. The contractor must adhere to all legal compliance requirements under the Contract Labor Act.
