Contract Labour Registration: Do I Need Separate Certificates for Each Delhi Branch?

SSandip
Hi All,

Please let me know under the Contract Labour (R&A) Act, as a Principal Employer, is it necessary to obtain a REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE (Form-II) as per Rule 18(1) for each building separately if I have 4 branch offices in Delhi?

I need your valuable remarks.

Hi Sandip,

For registering your contract laborers, you can get a single Reg. certificate. However, you need to specify the work location in Form I. For a license, each location has to be applied for separately. It is at the discretion of the labor department to issue a single RC, but if they insist on having multiple RCs for all locations, then you will need to obtain them separately.

Hi Raja,

If all your work comes under the jurisdiction of one ALC, then indicate/write the works in the Application (Form I). If it was not decided at the time of the application, you can amend the registration by writing a letter afterwards. Here, one registration can be valid.

However, if your work is in a different area or in the jurisdiction of another ALC, you will have to obtain a separate registration certificate.

If you have any queries, feel free to contact.

Hi Sandip,

Obtaining contract labor registration is like obtaining a Shops & Est. license, which means you need to obtain a registration certificate for each commercial establishment where the act is applicable.

Hi,

Regarding Contract Labour Lic. If 15 or more contract staff are working there, then it is essential.
