Kindly provide me with some good ideas to celebrate 26th January. We are a medium-sized IT company. The activity has to be wrapped up in 1 hour.

Total Employee Involvement Through Various HR Interventions

- Indoor and outdoor sports events (winter games).
- Inter-department matches.
- Cultural and entertainment programs organized by employees.
- Reciting the national anthem and national song by the employees themselves.
- Inviting senior-level officers from the district administration (SSP, DC, etc.) or the labor department to be honored as the chief guest of the Republic Day celebrations at your premises.
- Motivating high performers by awarding them in the presence of the chief guest.

And many more initiatives in terms of Total Employee Involvement (TEI).

Dear Khyati Pandya, please arrange for flag hoisting with the help of your security agency/personnel. Invite your MD for flag hoisting and instruct your security in charge to lower the flag during sunset. During the flag hoisting, the security can conduct the parade for a general salute. Distribute sweets and further, you can organize a high tea for all the staff members.

Dear Khyati, please organize a quiz competition among your staff. Frame the questions in such a way that the answers should contain information about our constitution. I believe that many of us do not have much knowledge about our constitution and celebrate Republic Day only for the sake of leave.

Thanks,

It will not cost you more because the flag and rope will only cost Rs. 250 - Rs. 300. For the pole, you can purchase a 15' pipe and weld a hook at the top and a grip at the bottom to tie the rope. The pipe, welding process, and even the flag will be a one-time expenditure and can be used for every Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, and every year thereafter.

Sweets can range from high-end to even 50 paise toffees. However, if you are already offering tea, biscuits, or snacks daily to your employees, consider adding one or two more sweets and pastries to create a High Tea experience.

The per-head expenditure will be approximately Rs. 50 for edibles, and the flag expenditure will be within Rs. 1500. Considering collecting Rs. 100 from all employees will surely cover the costs.

If you are hesitant about collecting funds, simply devise a plan for flag hoisting and get it approved by your management. In this scenario, no one will object to this kind of expense.

In addition to all the ideas mentioned by fellow members, you can include a tricolor code in the dress for Republic Day, and the best-dressed male and female can be given some gifts. Also, the entire office can be decorated with tricolor balloons and flags, along with a small flag on each workstation. This will give a sense of patriotism all around.

Happy celebration!

It's not the budget, but I want to do some cultural activity. Also, my complex has more than 30 companies, so a flag ceremony is not possible.

Thank you for your kind advice, but we already had that theme for the 15th August celebration, so we can't repeat it!  Anyways, please suggest something else for us.
