Its difficult to suggest HR initiative without knowing the organization and its needs. Please do share the following:
- What is the stage of the organization? It can be a start-up, stable , towards decline
- What is the fundamental aim or the top priority to the organization? It can be a double digit growth in terms of employee strength or a higher productivity within the current teams and etc.
- What is the decision making flow ? Are all the decision taken by the owner? How much of a bandwidth would you have if you suggest these initiatives?
- Finally what are the chief challenges do you find as a talent manager ?
The only cost effective HR initiative that I can suggest at this preliminary stage is process improvement for HR Functions. Take a closer look at the HR functions and find out how can you improve it . You even review all the HR documents maintained , benchmark them with the industry standards and revise them wherever you need. You further step up with an internal HR audit . This would be a value addition to the company without adding any cost.
