Understanding Job Offer Letters: What to Expect and How They Differ from Job Profiles

kavita_mhatre
Hello everybody,

Can anybody please tell me which letter a company provides us after getting a job? What are the contents of an offer letter? What is the content of a joining letter? What is the difference between an offer letter and receiving a job profile from the company? Is it okay to receive a profile but not an offer letter from the company? Please reply as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Dear Kavita,

An offer letter is the letter of intent which may indicate that the job is being offered to the candidate. It is typically issued at the end of the interview, detailing the role, CTC, place of reporting, and conditions for joining. On the other hand, a joining letter is issued once the candidate has joined the organization and may also be referred to as the Appointment letter.

Why are you asking this question? What has caused doubt about the document you received?

Offer letter is issued to invite you to accept the employment offer extended by the employer, along with their terms and conditions.

An appointment letter is provided after you have joined the company, confirming your salary level and providing other essential information that was included in the offer letter.

Where are you encountering difficulties in understanding?

With warm regards, S. Bhaskar 9099024667

Thank you, (Cite Contribution) and S. Bhaskar, for your reply. I have recently been placed in a Pune-based IT company. They have provided me with a job profile that includes details such as role, designation, and salary but does not mention anything about a bond. They have instructed me to collect the profile from their office. I am uncertain if this job profile serves the same purpose as an offer letter. Should I request an offer letter as well? Please advise at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,
Kavita
